| PHDCCI team meets PM, submits memo of demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, March 04: A PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation headed by Vikrant Kuthiala, Chairman J&K Committee met the Prime Minister and presented him a memorandum highlighting the issues related to Infrastructure development, employment and education, tourism and industry. The other members who accompanied the delegation included K.C.Sharma, Rajinder Motial, J.K.Mengi, Deepak Daftri and M.L.Mathur. The main points highlighted in the memorandum were early completion of double tracking and electrification of Jammu to Jalandhar Railway Track and commencement of daily Shatabdi service between Jammu- Delhi and Jammu - Chandigarh,aAccelerated development of power projects in the state and increase of free power share of the state, provision of 1000 Crores corpus fund for Hydel power development, extension of runway and aircraft parking bays at Jammu Airport. Their other demands included special package of incentives for Small Hydel Projects up to 25 MW, Completion of Thein Dam to Vijaypur Canal, early appointment of Vice Chancellor of Central University, Establishment of IIM in the State with Campuses in all 3 divisions, Centers of Excellence to design, develop local handicrafts, creation of Task Force for employment of the unemployed youth in PSUs and Private sector corporates, commencement for night flights for Jammu and Srinagar, provision of industrial incentives to Tourism sector, development of projects like Cable Cars, Golf Courses, amusement parks etc. The memorandum also demanded automation digital photo labs be taken out of the Central Negative List, Restoration of Central Excise Package, Mandatory purchase by Central Undertakings in the State, Extension of DIPP benefits/incentives for expansion by large scale industry, Grant of deemed Export status to industry in J&K.
