AKSDF submits memo to PM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , March 4: Representative body of All Kashmiri Sikhs’ Displaced Forum (AKSDF) today submitted a memorandum of demands before Prime Minister for their comprehensive rehabilitation. In a memorandum, the forum submitted that since displaced Sikh Community was facing multi- faceted problems since 1990, no attention was being given by State and Central Government to this hapless microscopic minority in Jammu. Hundred of Sikhs families registered with Relief Commissioner, Jammu, but they were not given any relief so far. The memorandum further demanded employment in state and centre government jobs, the package already promulgated by PM on April 26, 2008 at Jammu be implemented in which Sikh community be adjusted proportionately. They demanded stipend for educated youth till they get government jobs or private engagements anywhere, reservation in all professional colleges of country and state on most compassionate grounds free of cost They also demanded educational institute at Jagti Township on the pattern of IIT where AIEEE, AFMC and IMS courses could be taught under one roof for all the displaced communities from valley i.e. Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs, a bi school to be setup at Jammu for CBSE courses from 1st primary to 12th class. Other demands included residential quarters to be allotted to all registered displaced people who do not own houses and camp dwellers at war footing, enhancement in cash relief from Rs. 1250 per head to Rs. 2500 per head expenditiously to console the starving families, industrial plots in the estates and interest free bank loans for setting up of small industrial for earning livelihood independently. They also demanded probe into two massacres at Chitti Singh Pura and Mehjoor Nagar
