On spot registration of Amarnath Ji pilgrims HC admits petition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March-04 :- Justice Sunil Hali of JK High Court today admitted petition to hearing seeking registration of Pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra on spot and issued notice to State of J&K through Chief Secretary, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board through its Chairman, Chief Executive Officer Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and Union of India through Secretary to Govt of India Ministry of Home Affaris New-Delhi and directed respondents to file counter within three weeks and the list the petition after four weeks. This petition has been filed in the interest of pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra through Advocate Inderjeet Gupta who submitted that the petitioner organization is engaged in organizing annual yatra to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. The petitioner’s organization functioning for the last 46 years its main activity relates to organizing yatra to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji situated in Kashmir Valley. Adv Inderjeet Gupta for the petitioner further submitted that Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has introduced new system of registration of yatra. The conditions for registration of yatra that registration of yatri from registration counters established by the J&K Bank in 121 branches located all over the country. The J&K Bank registration counter will issue one yatra permit form and for every form received from the intending yatries will issued after receiving the registration fees @ Rs 15 per yatra permit form. The petitioner organization prayed for issuance a direction to the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board to grant on spot registration of pilgrims undergoing Amarnath Yatra as per the judgment passed by the High Court on April 15, 2005 and also seeking directions for other facilities to the pilgrims.
