3/4/2011 9:49:19 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March-04 :- The Bar Association Jammu today submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister. The BAJ delegation was headed by its president, BS Salathia. President YLA Rohan also accompanied the BAJ president.
The BAJ sought appointment of judges in the State High Court. The BAJ said there were only 10 judges against the sanctioned strength of 14 judges. It is further submitted in memorandum out of the 10 sitting judges six from Kashmir including one from the minority community, one from Jammu and three from rest of country including Chief Justice.
Due to unfilled vacancies in the State High Court for the last more than several years, the arrears on account of back log of cases is increasing with each passing days. The sanctioned strength of the judges of the High Court being in place the situation would have otherwise and justice dispensed to the people more expeditiously and also seeking welfare schemes for the Advocates.
