Couple spreading message of peace on bicycle
Next phase of yatra to commence on March, 2007 from Jammu

JAMMU, NOV 12
A young couple in their mid- thirties after covering a distance of 5000 kms on bicycle in 90 days reached the city of temples here today.
The couple M. Kruppiah and his wife Chitra hailing from Tamil Nadu started their journey on July 15, this year from Gandhi Museum is preading the peace message of the ‘ Father of the Nation ‘ to every nook and corner of India. The cycle yatra is planned entirely by the couple and sponsored by Lions club international.
Explaining the objectives of this cycle yatra Kruppiah said that aimed at propagating Mahatama Gandhi’s philosophy and non-violence way of life, to cultivate the unity among the people in order to eradicate terrorism and violence to create peace world, to keep unity among all religions, to uplift the status of women inspiring the youth to take up voluntarily the task of nation building to realize the dreams of Gandhi.
They covered the distance crossing nine state of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. While on there way back the couple will pass through J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttaranchal, Sikkim and all north-eastern states, West Bengal, Orrisa, Andhra Pradesh and Pondicherry, Karuppiah informed. Their return journey will be 7000 kms and will take 125 days, he said wherever we went we got overwhelming support from the people and lions clubs.
The prominent among present were Lion RD Gupta President, Lion Rajesh Gupta Region chairman, Lion Sanjeev Soni, Lion Sanjay Nagpal, Lion Devinder Gupta, Lion Amit Jandyal, Lion Rajesh Langar, Lion Partap Mahajan, Lion Neweraj Tandon, Lion KS Samyal and other members of Lions Club Jammu Royal.
