EJAC to hold protest demonstration on Mar 7 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 5 : Criticising the government for its anti-employees policy, State President Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) Ab. Qayoom Wani today appealed the employees to stand united against the divisive policy of the government. In a meeting of the EJAC here today, Wani said that it is their democratic right to protest against the callous and apathetic attitude of the governing elite and crushing tactics of the ruling dispensation. In the meeting, it was unanimously resolved that all the employees of the state will hold a protest demonstration in front of the Secretariat on March 7 to press their long pending demands. The State functionaries exhorted all the zonal, tehsil and district level presidents and office bearers to take part in the protest demonstration to make the same successful. Reiterating the demands for releasing the due 10% D.A with effect from July 2010, 6th pay commission arrears in cash, regularization of daily wage workers, Contractual workers, removal of the pay anomalies of the clerical staff, in cash payment to the retired employees and early settlement of their other arrears. Calling it an open dictatorial representation on part of the government, the participants warned that such suppressive act was not healthy sign of a democratic set up and will not be tolerated in any form. The meeting was presided over by the State President EJAC Ab. Qayoom Wani while prominent among those who took part include Arnreek Singh, Dinesh Khajuria, Yoginder Pal, Fareed A. Fani, Darshan Singh, Arnreek Singh Sasan, Sayed Zakir Peer, Surat Singh Toofani etc.
