Army organizes vet camp at Talwara

Jammu, Mar 5 : In its endeavor to ameliorate the problems of Gujjars and Bakerwals, Uniform Force conducted a veterinary camp at Talwara as part of Op Sadbhavana.
The aim of the camp was to generate awareness about the potential of their cattle which could be tapped by using scientific methods for wool production and health. Importance of timely vaccination, de-worming and balanced nutrition were explained to them for livestock health. People showed keen interest in the camp and brought out their problems and queries which were answered by experts from Army and Animal Husbandry Department.
Free medicines were also distributed to the livestock owners. De-worming of sheep and goats was done using imported drenching instruments. A lecture on value addition of livestock production was given to the locals.
Approximately 2500 ailing livestock were provided treatment in the camp. The locals thanked the Army for coming forward in their area, for providing free medication.
