| Tour operators formed new body | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 5 : Tour Operators of Jammu & Kashmir today announced the formation of State Level Apex Representative Body “J&K Federation of Tour Operators (JKFTO) to put up a united face to the problems faced by them.
Statement issued by the federation says that it was a long pending demand of the people associated with the sector who are facing many problems. “JKFTO was formed after due deliberations by captains of the tourism industry from all the regions of the State, especially the tour operators who have proved themselves to be the real brand ambassadors of J&K”, press statement said.
A ten member Executive Body was also declared with Rajesh Gupta as president, Nazir Ahmed Mir as vice president, S. S Madni as secretary and Amrik Singh as treasurer. Rest of the members of Executive Body included Harish K. Gosain, Tarsem K. Bhogal, Satbir Singh, Liakat Jan, Basharat Ahmad and Syed Ishtiyaq Kamili.
The working committee also nominated Constitution Committee headed by Harish K. Gosain which has been entrusted with most important task of preparing constitution of the Federation by April, 30. ‘Till the time the Constitution is prepared and is formally adopted, the Federation will function in accordance with the resolutions adopted in the Working Committee”, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gupta, president of this Apex Body of tour operators of J&K said that tourism sector required a unified representative body at state level to address the related issues with appropriate quarters.
