JMC clears 75 building permission cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 5 : Under the chairmanship of S.C Sawhney Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jammu, a meeting of Building Operation Controlling Authority was held today. In the meeting the building permission cases were examined and 75 (seventy five) cases of building permission were cleared. The other members of Building Operation Controlling Authority besides Joint Commissioner (Adm), Joint Commissioner (Works) and Senior Town Planner of Jammu Municipal Corporation attended the meeting. The building permissions cases cleared today shall generate revenue of Rs. 18.00 lacs (Rupees eighteen lacs) for Jammu Municipal Corporation. Besides this, the Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith team of Food Inspectors continued the drive to check the quality of food items and inspected about 110 food establishments like Dhabas / Restaurants, Ice Cream Parlours, fruit Juice Shops, Meat / Chicken Shops, Tea Stalls, Sweets Shops, Bakery shops etc. in the areas of B.C. Road, K.C. Chowk, Bus Stand, New Rehari. During the inspection 19 defaulters were booked under the provisions of Prevention of Food Adulteration Act 1954 and J&K Municipal Corporation Act, 2000. An amount of Rs. 3300.00 (Rupees three thousand three hundred) was charged as fine from the defaulters and about 25 kgs of stale Cooked food was destroyed on spot. Apart from this, the Municipal Veterinary Officer along with field staff conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited the areas of Asia Chowk, Gandhi Nagar, Nai Basti, Gangyal etc. Also, the Enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer undertook a drive in the areas within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation and removed various illegal constructions.
