| Hailstorm affected farmers will be provided relief: Bhalla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 5: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla today said that under National Calamity Relief Fund, the affected farmers of 161 villages of tehsil Bishnah and R. S. Pura whose crop was damaged due to hailstorm during intervening night of October 21 and 22 last year would be provided relief.
Minister was replying to a question by Trilochan Singh in Legislative Council today. He said till date no compensation has been paid to the affected as the matter is under examination in the department for admissibility of relief in terms of State Disaster Response Fund Norms. He further informed that an amount of Rs. 24.37 lakhs has been disbursed, as relief, among the farmers of Wachi constituency who suffered losses to their crops due to the incidence of hailstorm during the year 2009-10.
