| Arms & Amn dealers body extends support to police investigation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu , March 5: Arms and Ammunition Dealers Association expressed its gratitude to police authorities for unearthing nexus between unscrupulous elements of society and administration as well.
Extending support to the police, the association members dispelled the misgivings about the gun manufacturing industry and its retail trade by the dealers for which licences are issued by the state government.
Meanwhile, the association highlighted the achievements of the 32 vibrant Arms Manufacturing units and about 400 Retail Traders of Arms & Ammunition which apart from providing jobs for more than 20,000 educated/ skilled/ unskilled persons was continuously contributing towards state exchequer to the tune of Rs 100 crore annually in the shape of VAT and other taxes without financial assistance from the Government inspite of the fact that more than 80 per cent government aided industrial units are sick.
