| Cheat takes away Accent car against fake draft | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 05: A cheat took away an Accent car by making payment through a fake draft to a Hyundai dealer at Narwal here. Police sources said one Bhanu Pratap visited KC Hyundai showroom at
Narwal here on January 1 last and took away a deluxe Accent car by making payment of over Rs 5 lakh through a draft. The dealer deposited the draft in the bank in routine for payment.
He was, however, informed by the bank yesterday that the draft was fake and no payment could be made against it. The dealer then approached the concerned police station and lodged a
report in this regard.
While booking the car, the cheat had told the staff that he hailed from Satwari. The same address was written on the car sale letter and other papers issued by the company.
Sources said when police went to the Pratap's Satwari residence, they came to know that the address too was fake. Efforts were being made by police to identify the accused and arrest him, the sources added.
