| ‘Democracy being turned into martial law’, says Shahazad | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March 6: Lambasting the NC led coalition for the chaos and lawlessness situation going on in the state, PDP leader Shahazad Khan in a press release has stated that the situation in the state is going from bad to worse and democracy is being turned into martial law.
Criticizing the recent manhandling of the legislators by the marshals wherein even an MLA was injured Shahzad said that the incident is a clear show of martial force and murder of democracy.
He also condemned the statement of the speaker in a local daily seeking the resignation of the deputy speaker thus showing his partisan bent is unheard of and a shear mockery of democracy as a speaker has to be neutral despite belonging to a particular party.
He said that the present coalition government has failed on all fronts in providing better governance to the people.
