‘Better option than autonomy would be welcomed’
Farooq for immediate resolution of Kashmir issue

BHADERWAH, NOV 12-
‘ Gun has brought death and destruction to the people of the State and increased the miseries of the common people manifold’ said Dr Farooq Abdullah Chief Patron National Conference while addressing a public meeting at Seeri Bazar here today. He said the development of the state has suffered a lot during the last 17-18 years of militancy adding that the people of the state can only feel the heat of the gun.
Dr Abdullah urged the Centre to take initiative to resolve the Kashmir problem adding that the National Conference has given a viable solution in the form of restoration of Autonomy and made it clear that that his party would not come in the way if any solution better than autonomy and acceptable to all the three regions of the state is put forth.
The NC Patron said that his party did not field any candidate against Ghulam Nabi Azad as it did not want to stand in the way of the people of Bhaderwah viz development and felt the need for having an alternative road from Basohli to Kashmir via Bani Bhaderwah Desa and Kapran. ‘Saying that he will take this these issues with the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister’, Dr Abdullah said that Bani- Bhaderwah stretch of the road already constructed be made operational. He urged the government to provide adequate compensation to the people of the area whose land has come under University campus, Garison, widening of road and Bhaderwah Tourism Development Authority and also demanded immediate disbursement of relief to the farmers whose crops suffered damages recently by hail storm and heavy rains.
Earlier, the party’s senior leader Aslam Goni in his speech put forth the problems of the people.
Ajay Sadhotra Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, senior Vice President, Kashmir Singh ex-MLC, Mohammed Iqbal Bhat MLC, Shabir Ahmed and Abdul Qayoom Baghwan were also present.
