‘LAHDC decision reflects the nationalistic aspirations’
3/6/2011 10:55:07 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March 6: After discussing the present political scenario, the leaders of the State Morcha welcomed the decision of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, adopting insignia with Ashoka Pillar which almost resembles the national emblem replacing the Jammu and Kashmir’s logo.
The state Morcha leaders said that this step is a serious rebuttal to the separatist policies of National Conference, PDP and even to the Government of India which is thinking of granting greater autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir while bowing down to the demands of separatists and the so called these mainstream parties.
This decision of LAHDC reflects the nationalistic aspirations of the people of Ladakh and identifies its people with national mainstream. The decision is a warning to the Government of India that if it implements any decision that supports the agenda of N.C. and PDP and other separatist and communal forces of the Valley it shall pave the way for the disintegration of J&K state as the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions shall be left with no other option but to demand separation from the Valley.
Jammu State Morcha cautions the people of Jammu region about the coming events with regard to the future of Jammu and Kashmir State. They further stated that the statements of the interlocutors, the indications being given those at the helm of affairs at the centre reflect that that the solution being worked out would be only Kashmir centric and the aspirations of the people of Jammu region are once again are going to be neglected.
They further stated that the people of Jammu region and that of Ladakh and the nationalist and secular forces of the Valley strongly oppose to the grant of more autonomy to J&K, instead they want strengthening of bonds between the state and the Centre. The grant of further autonomy shall in no way satisfy the separatist forces including National Conference and PDP, contrarily this would encourage them to demand further concessions that ultimately shall lead to separation of Jammu and Kashmir from India and making it a pure theocratic state.
