Police foils technocrats march to CM House | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 6: Hundreds of policemen deployed in and around Mubarak Mandi Complex today foiled agricultural technocrats call for CM House Chalo in Jammu. Heavy deployment of police and security forces and barricades were raised to foil technocrats march to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullahs residence. Large number of technocrats who were Carrying placards and banners under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Agricultural Technocrat Association (JKATA) assembled at the protest site in Mubarak Mandi to proceed for the Chief Minister House. Raising anti-government slogans, the technocrats gathered at Mubarak Mandi but heavy deployment of force did not allow them to continue with the march. Earlier on Saturday, agriculture technocrats, who are sitting on fast unto death in support of the demands, continued their protest on the 14th day and demonstrated in a semi-nude position flaying the Government and the Agriculture Minister for causing delay in their regularisation. The State Government had invited Prime Minister to distribute degrees to the candidates from Sher-e Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-J) but on the other hand the technocrats who got degrees in 1996, are still waiting for jobs and protesting for the last 15 years, Surinder Radotra, JKATA President, said. “We are on fast unto death for the last two-weeks but the Government has turned a deaf ear towards them. Most of the technocrats have crossed the upper age limit and it is very difficult for them to survive”, he added.
