Sewing machines to widows ,poor distributed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Mar 6: The Lions Club Kathua Royals Kings today organised a programme to distribute the sewing machines to the widows and poor girls of marriageable age at a function. With the motive to contribute for the service of the humanity the programme was organised where Amul vidhya Bhushan and Amul Vidhya Shree awards sponsored by Amul India were also given to 20 school toppers of class 10th and 12th classes of 8 different schools of Kathua town. On the occasion, DC Kathua Zahidha Khan and SSP Kathua J.L Sharma were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively and in their presence almost 25 women beneficiaries were given the Sewing Machines to run their own business for generating their livelihood. The DC Kathua appreciated the working of this club which has taken the responsibility to help the poor people of the society in various forms. The president of the club Tarlok Gupta said that the basic motive of the club is to extend the all possible help towards the poor people of the society and as per the capacity of the club, it is our endeavour to provide the genuine and needful help to the people who belongs to the poor families. Among others president Lions Club Kathua Royal Kings T.N. Gupta, district Zonal chairman Surjeet Singh Jamwal, Secretary A.D Saini, Treasurer Prem Kumar, Project Manager Keerti Bhushan Mahajan, Members of the Lions Club prominent Citizens of the Kathua , students of different schools and identified poor and needy ladies were also present on the function.
