3/6/2011 10:57:08 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 6: Natrang today staged a new Dogri play, ‘Bagaana Sach’ in its Studio theatre as a part of its regular Weekly Sunday Theatre Series.
The play has been written by eminent Dogri writer Dr. Om Goswami and directed by Neeraj Kant. In his opening remarks Natrang Director Balwant Thakur said that it has been a pleasure putting up Dogri plays in Sunday Theatre and Natrang will continue to showcase the Great Dogri writings through its plays.
The play in a humorous manner showcases the instinctive characteristics of women folk on which one tends to laugh in the first instance but it also makes us realize their importance. It was a subtle tribute by Natrang to the spirit of ‘Womanhood’ on the eve of International Women’s Day on 8th of March.
The play opens in house of ‘Lakshmi Devi’ where she is busy gossiping about almost everything with ‘Rambha Devi’. They both are so curious about knowing and discussing everything, about everybody.
The two ladies were soon joined by ‘Champa Devi’ who added spice to the intimate discussions. From now on, whenever the one among them moves out, the remaining two start back biting about her and caricature her life in their own fancies.
Sajra Qadir as ‘Rambha Devi’, Niharika Sharma as ‘Lakshmi Devi’ and Sunil Bhardwaj as ‘Champa Devi’ were very impressive in putting life into their respective characters.
Others who supported the performance include Sachin Saini as Vinay Manhas. Lights were operated by Mohd. Yaseen. Aatish Gupta rendered the Music.
Sumeet Sharma Coordinated the show, and Kritika Sharma did the stage management. Presentations were done by Pawan Verma.
