Army medical camp organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Mar 6: Army organised a day-long medical-cum-veterinary camp in Uri sector. Over 3,000 patients were today provided free consultation and medicines at the camp The camp was organised by the 7th battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles under the aegis of 161 Infantry Brigade at primary health centre, Chandanwari, 90 kms from here, an army spokesman said. He said 15 Army and civil doctors attended the patients, including women and children, and gave free medicines worth Rs 95,000 to them. The patients had thronged the camp from 29 villages, the spokesman said, adding that transport was provided to those who stayed at far-flung areas. Also, 16 pairs of crutches were distributed to physically challenged persons. At the veterinary section of the camp, over 5,000 animals were examined by army doctors and free medicines worth Rs 55,000 given to their owners, the spokesman said. The camp, organised by Army as part of its Operation Goodwill, was aimed at further strengthening the bond between the security forces and the locals.
