Slathia inaugurates Medical Camp, Agricultural Mela | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 6: Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjeet Singh Slathia today conducted extensive tour to border areas including Ramgarh, Hira Chak, Nanga, Abtal areas of Vijaypur constituency and reviewed the progress of development works. At Nanga village, the Minister inaugurated free medical camp in the premises of Govt. Middle school, Nanga. The camp was organized by 59 Bn of BSF. DIG BSF SK Singh, CO 59 Bn BSF, OP Upadhaya, 2nd commander 59 Bn BSF P Trivedi. Appreciating the efforts taken by the authorities of Border Security Force, the Minister said on the arranging of such medical camp in the village, hundreds of ailing people of border village are treated at their doorstep. He asked the people to avail the benefits of such free medical camps in their respective areas. He said under Border Area Development Programme Rs 3 lakh medicine was distributed among 3500 ailing villagers. Earlier, the Minister also inaugurated an Agricultural Mela at Abtal village organized by Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA). Elaborating on the issue of employment, the Minister said that the Government is very keen to organize a special recruitment drive for border area youth in police and paramilitary forces. He asked the local youth to avail the benefits of such drives. He asked the unemployed youth to also avail the benefits of state and centrally sponsored schemes by establishing income generating units like beekeeping, mushroom cultivation, floriculture, aromatic and medicinal plants besides other Agro based industries. Later, the Minister inaugurated M/S S K Enterprises at Patli morh financed by the KVIB under PMEGP. At Nanga village, the construction works of lane and drain was started in the presence of the Minister, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 3.29 Lakh.
