| One drowns, two rescued by people | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Mar 06:
Of the three youth, who tried to cross Ujh river on their motorcycle at Kote Punnu near here today, one drowned, while two others were rescued by locals. The youth were on their way to Kote Punnu via Nagri. As one needs to cross Ujh to go to the other side of Kote Punnu, they too tried to wade through the river waters, according to police sources.
However, when their motorcycle (JK08B/3406) reached the middle of the stream, they started drowning, the sources added. Hearing their screams, some locals rushed to their rescue. They were able to save two of them, while the third was washed away by the
river currents.
The dead Raj Kumar, son of Doulat Ram, hailed from ward No 10. Those rescued were identified as Arvind Sharma, son of Rajinder Prasad of ward No 4, and Sanjeev Sharma, son of Thakur Dass of ward No 10.Raj's body had not been fished out till late tonight. Police had
registered a case in this connection
