| Giri Encounter Case | | Court denies bail to Giri’s brother | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March-07 :- Judicial Magistrate RS Pura Manjeet Rai rejected the bail application of Mukesh Kumar alias Rocky (real brother of deceased Giri), Sunny Kumar alias Sunny and Parshtom Kumar alias Toti who were allegedly involved in attempt to murder of one Vijay Kumar of RS Pura (alleged informer of police in Giri’s Encounter case).
According to the police case that on February 6, 2011 a complaint was filed by Chano Devi with the RS Pura police to the effect that the same day her son namely Vijay Kumar had gone to field, the complainant had also gone in the field at about 2:00 PM when her son reached near the school, Rocky, Sunny and Toty stopped the son of complainant in the way and started saying to him that he had got killed Giri and all the three accused had Tokas in their hand and attacked the son of complainant and started inflicted injuries with the intention to kill him and severely injured him on raising who & cry. The complainant and few persons reached on spot and all the three accused ran away from the spot. Before this incident the said three persons used to say that son of complainant had got killed giri and threatened him of dire consequence.
The court after hearing the parties held that on the disclosure of statement of accused persons beside the weapons of offence and motorcycle which the accused Sunny Kumar and Ravi Kumar forcibly snatched from the motorcyclist by showing him the Toka. Senior Prosecuting Officer Mr. Anil Dev Singh Jamwal opposed the bail applications on the ground that two accused namely Kindha and Nitu are yet to be arrested and the victim is still admitted in the GMC Jammu. Court said that in the present case the victim is still struggling for his life in the hospital. Court is of the opinion that the applicants did not deserve the concession of bail and rejected the same. JNF
