| Haresh Rawat, Rachpal participate in PKV Mela | | | AGENCIES
NEW DELHI, MARCH 07- Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Mr Haresh Rawat and Vice Chairman J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kissans, Mr. Rachpal Singh participated in Pussa Krishi Vigyan Mela which was held here today under the auspices of Indian Agriculture Research Institute Delhi the other day where among other participants accredited Agriculture Scientists were present.
While delivering his lecture, Mr. Rachpal Singh stated that Indian Agriculture Research Institute has contributed significantly to make the country self sufficient in food grains but much more need to be done to ensure farmer’s prosperity and national food security. He further stated that the aim of Indian Agriculture Research Institute should be to enhance productivity and income of the farmers by utilizing the farm technologies. He apprised the renowned Scientists that J&K State is having a vast potential for floriculture which if exploited scientifically can generate a huge income for the state. He appealed the Union Minister to visit the State and see personally how the State of J&K is rich in having the potential of agriculture produce.
He Rachpal also visited the Kissan Garh of J&K State where he was apprised about the functioning the Kissan Garh. He was told that a new building comprising of 42 rooms is being constructed on two and half kanals available land for which NOC from Municipal Corporation Delhi is being obtained.
