| 2-day workshop on heritage awareness held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, MARCH 07- Teacher Training workshop on heritage awareness organized by INTACH Jammu Chapter in collaboration with SHTM, University here today. Workshop of Heritage Clubs in the education institutions of Jammu was inaugurated by Director School Education, Jammu Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi. The aim to organize two days workshop is to educate the school/ college students on the cultural heritage of Jammu.
Prof. Anita Billawaria, an art historian, delivered a knowledge able lecture on ‘folk art of Jammu region’ which was highly appreciated by participants. Prof. Poonam Choudhary threw light on ‘Mughal route in J&K’.
Miss Poornima Dutta, Director, Heritage Education & Communication Service (HECS) threw light on the establishment of young INTACH clubs in schools and heritage. Mr. Harbans Chand Katoch was nominated as HECS, Jammu Chapter. Participants were provided with the heritage kits and plan of action to acquaint school and college students to heritage. Abhimanyu Dev Singh Billawaria step wise escorted the workshop towards its aim.
