NSF holds protest at central library

JAMMU, Mar 7: National Secular Forum today held a protest demonstration in front of Central Library in the campus of the Jammu University on Monday in which large number of students and scholars participated.
The protest demonstration was led by State President Vikas Sharma who took a strong note of the non-availability of facilities being provided by the Jammu University in the library where hundreds of students are spending their time as KAS exams are going on and also the students are preparing for others competitive exams.
He said students and scholars highlighted their problems before the authorities several times but most of their issues remained unaddressed.
He said that lot of funds is provided for the development works but no such development is seen on grounds. He said that officials of the university are enjoying every facility and students are deprived of it.
Sharma said that National Secular Forum was going to aware among the Jammuties to save Jammu University from such a dictatorialship of Vice Chancellor and to fight for a local Vice Chancellor in future at University of Jammu.
He further said that where university talks of going hi tech by using Smart Card technology in the central university but no such thing has been introduced so far. He said that money has been collected admission time by the students for the issues of Smart Card but no such facility is being provided to the students.
Sharma added that sub centre of central library which is located in Vinayak Bazaar is closed for the last 6 years. He said that university should initiative of opening of this sub centre of library as the same has benefitted many who at this time are holding high positions in the society. He also said that coming up of examination hall in the third floor of central library is not worth as there will be restrictions of the students which in turn will effect there studies.

Among those who were present in the protest included, Rahul Sharma, Sunny Babber, Sukdev Singh, Ravi Choudhary, Ajaz, Surjit Choudhary, Sunil Kumar, Ajaz, Balveer, Ankit Raina and Vijay.
