50 critical ambulances being procured: Sham

JAMMU, March 08-
Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma informed the House that the orders for purchasing of 50 Special Accidental Trauma (critical) ambulances have been placed for deployment at certain districts at the difficult, most difficult, inaccessible areas to provide referral connectivity on priority along the entire national highway of the State which includes district Kathua also.
The Minister was replying to a question by Mr. Subash Chander Gupta in Legislative Council today.
He said the Government intends to set up trauma hospitals along national highway, some of which have already been set up and commissioned to provide better medicare facilities to the injured patients. He said the Special Accidental Trauma (critical) ambulances were equipped with latest facilities with full-fledged staff to provide immediate medicare to these patients.
The Minister said the vacant posts of D-Grade Specialists and Para medical staff including those of DH, Kathua and PHC stands referred to PSC /SSRB. He said as soon as selection is received from PSC /SSRB these posts shall be full-filled.
The supplementaries were raised by Mr. T. S. Wazir.
Mean while Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma on behalf of Medical Education Minister informed the House that Government would soon make a comprehensive plan for repairs of associated hospitals of Medical College, Jammu / Srinagar. He said resources are also being mobilized to start the work next fiscal year.
The Minister was replying to a question by Mr. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra in Legislative Council today.
He said every year routine repairs of assets of Medical Colleges including associated hospitals Jammu /Srinagar are carried out of Plan and Non-Plan funds allocated every year. He said during 2010-11 Rs. 3.25 crores and Rs. 1.09 crore were made available for Medical Colleges / associated hospitals Jammu and Srinagar respectively for the said purpose.
Supplementaries were raised by Sheikh Ghulam Rasool, Mr. Khalid Najeeb Suhrawardy, Aga Syed Ahmed and Mr. Mohammad Rashid Qureshi.
