| Seminar on Legal Empowerment of Women at Ramban | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, March-08 (JNF):- A Seminar on Legal Empowerment of Women and a Special Lok Adalat for Matrimonial Cases on the eve of International Women’s Day was organized in the District Court Complex Ramban under the Chairmanship of Ms. Bala Jyoti Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairperson District Legal Services Authority Ramban.
Additional S P Ramban Mr. Parshotam Sharma was guest of the honour. Many prominent persons including Chief Medical Officer, Ramban, SDPO Banihal Mr. Jamil Ahmed, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ramban Mrs. Kusoom Lata Pandita, Sub Judge Batote Mr. Ajay Kumar Gupta, Munsiff Banihal Mr. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Ramban, Mr. Irshad Ahmed, Public Prosecutor Ramban Mr. Manhas and Presidents of Bar Association Ramban and Banihal were present on the occasion. Many prominent Advocates Mr. Khalid Nizam, Mr. K.S Bali, Mr. A H Yattoo etc. were also present on the said occasion and delivered upon various topics like Domestic Violence Act, Legal Rights of Women and its violations.
While speaking on the occasion Ms. Jyoti Principal District and Sessions Judge, Ramban stressed for the need to be more sensitized towards pathetic condition of downtrodden women of the society. She further emphasized to have compassion for the needy and deserving women in her inaugural address of the seminar. She further spoke about the need to step into the victims shoes to feel the intensity of their sufferings. Even a Special Lok Adalat for Matrimonial Cases was also organized on the said occasion wherein three benches were constituted for disposal of matrimonial cases.
Mr Parshotam Sharma Additional S P Ramban also assured the women folk present in the seminar to render all police assistance in case of dire necessity.
Mr. Yahya Firdous Munsiff Ramban compared the whole proceedings and Sh. Ajay Kumar Gupta Sub Judge Batote presented vote of thanks. Function was a huge success more than 800 people from Gool, Sangaldan, Sanasar, Banihal, Neel, Makarkote, Panchal, Batote, Chanderkoot, Champa Rajgarh, etc participated and appreciated the Endeavour made by District Judiciary Ramban. All Advocates of District Bar Association lauded role of District Judiciary and assured full fledged cooperation in near future also to strengthen the Legal Services Authority. JNF
