JAMMU, March 09: Mamta Sharma of PG Departments and Nayna of Government College for Women (GCW) Parade emerged most successful athletes on the inaugural day of the three-day Annual Inter-college Athletics Meet of University of Jammu (JU) on the campus, here today.
Both these women athletes were to their best in different field and track events decided today. Other three gold medals, decided today, went to Neeru Manhas of GCW Parade, Natasha of PG Departments and Sabita Sharma, again of PG.
The athletics meet was declared open by Minister for Sports, R S Chib. Vice-Chancellor of the Univeristy, Prof Varun Sahni, in his presidential address, congratulated the Department of Sports for inculcating the spirit of sports among the students.
Earlier, Director, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau welcomed the distinguished gathering present in the inaugural function.
