IPO hails state budget, FM | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, March 9: Institute of Public Opinion (IPO) called the meeting of the Executive Committee Members to review the budget presented by finance minister at the floor of the house yesterday vis-à-vis IPO proposal to the minister during pre-budget deliberations . The meeting was chaired by Arun Gupta, Chairman of IPO. Unanimously, the members of IPO hailed the State Budget and thanked the Finance Minister, Rather to incorporate some of their suggestions put forward by IPO during Pre-Budget sessions. IPO appreciates that the budget has taken care some of their suggestions particularly Beti Hain Anmol, introduction of Pilot scheme of procurement of local food items for conversion into nutritious meals for the children, unemployment allowance to educated youth, improvement in Health Care centres, including State Cancer Treatment, potable drinking water facilities and Rs. 326 crore investment to be made in Housing and Urdan Development sector. Rather has promised to introduce comprehensive Bill during the current session to effect comprehensive changes in the existing system of registration and assessment of Stamp duties. However , Arun mentioned that some of their other valuable suggestions like think for senior citizens, multi-story parking , Social security for businessman’s families, deputing trade delegations (MSMES) to other states and abroad , Pilot plant facilities for EDI, Special Incentives for Food Processing Industries and manufacturing nutritional products, drinking water purifiers to each rural school and suggestions regarding tourism and beautification have escaped his attention.
