Relief provided to fire affected of Yaripora: Rather

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, March 9- Minister for Finance, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today informed the House that about 8 houses and 4 cowsheds have been gutted in devastating fire incident in Yaripora in Kulgam district adding that the district administration has promptly provided relief of Rs. 10, 000 per family as Red Cross assistance and Rs. 30, 000 out of Calamity Relief Fund.
As many as 17 kitchen sets and clothing have also been provided to the affected families, he added.
The Minister was responding to the issue raised by Mr. Abdul Gaffar Sofi in the House yesterday.
However, the Speaker, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone directed the Government that timber on concessional rates should also be arranged for the affected families.
While responding to the fire incident that have occurred in Tulail of Gurez constituency as raised by Mr. N. A. Gurezi, the Minister said that Government would take immediate measures to provide relief to the fire victims.
