JWAM delegation meets Sham, demands better facilities for the patients | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 9- Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) met the Health Minister Sham Lal Sharma in the civil secretariat Jammu and "registered a strong protest" with the Minister over poor condition of the Govt hospitals. Led by JWAM president, Sunil Dimple, they demanded that when the meeting of the "House committee constituted for the Health department irregularities” was convened there demands should have also been kept in the agenda. Dimple demanded that in the medical college Jammu till today for the last 3 months emergency ward has been locked by GMC administration. He said that due to shortage of the doctors and ten bedded ICU and 4 operation theatres are lying closed in the GMC and immediately strong agitation against the misdeeds, wrong decisions and misleading policies of the Government. Dimple said that no senior specialists’ doctors are available in G M C at the night for emergency patient and only junior doctors and interns are running the hospital at the night. He also expressed serious concern over the closer of 10 bedded ICU and 4 operation theaters in the GMC Jammu for want of and due to shortage of the Doctors and paramedical staff. Dimple also appealed the Health Minister to take affective steps and open the locked emergency ward of GMC immediately otherwise the people will be compelled to start the agitation against the Govt. and the Medical authorities at the helm of the affair. Sham lal Health Minister gave patient Hearing to Sunil Dimple and assuered immediate effective steps will be taken.
