Bhalla lays foundation of link road at Jeevan Nagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 9- Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today said that coalition government is making all efforts to connect the remote and downtrodden areas with nearest headquarters by constructing roads and bridges. Bhalla was addressing a public gathering at Jeevan Nagar after laying foundation of 800 meter long km-3rd link road from Jeevan Nagar to Ajit Singh Talwar house on Miran Sahib Muralian approached road, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 32.80 lakh. Bhalla asked the Roads and Buildings department to complete the construction works of edge walls including 700 meter deep drain within stipulated time frame by using quality material. He said Government has taken revolutionary measures for connecting every nook and corner of the State with each other by providing road connectivity. Bhalla said there is no constraint of funds under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana And added that Central Government has provided liberal funding to the State Government for developing Jammu and Kashmir as model State. He said that Government is planning to beautify all the canal embankment areas from Jeevan Nagar to Narwal by developing parks and pathways. Bhalla informed that Government has formulated a comprehensive plan to reconstruct the choked arch type culvert/bridge over Babliana canal adding that Rs. 1.75 crore are estimated to be incurred for the purpose. He further added that the government is also embarking on a plan to develop recreational park along the open space of canal for which Rs. 1.6 crore has already been earmarked. He said that Rs. 30 crore Grid Station has been commissioned to improve electricity supply in Gangyal Industrial area.
