Jammu, March 9- Resuming the discussion on the budget Mr Harsh Dev Singh criticized the Government for mismatch of Income and the expenditure terming the figures projected in the budget fudged.
Mr. Singh said no investment in core areas has been made saying that the Government continues to depend on the Central assistance. He said government hasn’t fulfilled the promise of opening 11 Degree Colleges announced by the Centre during 2008-09.
He said same is the case with establishment of ITI's and 142 Skill Development Centres. He said government should equally treat each region with regard to development and allocation of funds. He pointed out that Rs 356 crore have been earmarked for the Dal Development and no funds have been earmarked for development and preservation of Mansar Lake.
Mr. Singh urged for sincere approach to address what he called regional imbalances as the government has failed to invest in the development of backward areas of Jammu division. He pleaded for modifying the AnmolBeti scheme to make it more attractive and result oriented.
