NC hails budget, terms people friendly | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , March 9; Provincial President, National Conference Rattan Lal Gupta has hailed the annual budget presented by the Financial Minister Omar Abdullah in the state legislative assembly. He said the budget is balanced poor friendly and people loving. Gupta also appreciated the move of the govt to address problems of the business community farmers, labour class and particularly large number of young people who are working on daily wage basis. He further stated that VAT exemption on food grains pesticides, insecticides, weedicides, mulching animals, poultry feed, bee hives & colonies, industries, inspection of raw material once a year, induction of online system in CTD and reduction of passenger tax on ordinary buses and incentives to be given to the education of girls under “Anmol Beti Plan” will give a big boost to the development of the state. He congratulated the Chief Minister and Finance Minister of their efforts to bring out such a marvelous budget for the welfare and all round development of the state. Reacting sharply to the speech of the former finance minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig, he said that Beig should recall his budget speech in 2003-04 where he produced imaginary figures to show Zero deficit budget but the same was lambasted by the opposition leader Gh Mohi-ud-Din Shah and Abdul Rahim Rather. Beig never presented a balanced budget during his tenure. Therefore his utterances in the assembly was nothing new and only to divert the attention of the people, he added.
