| Basic Orientation Cum Awarness Programme on SGSY held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Gazipur Kullian, March 09- A one day Basic orientation cum awareness programme on SGSY was organized by DRDA at village Gazipur Kullian of Block R.S Pura in which around 200rural people participated. The objective of the porgramme was to impart basic training to the newly formed Self Help Groups for making the rural people aware about SGSY scheme.
The chief guest of the programme was Prof G.R. Bhagat, MLA, R.S Pura. The training was given by Gurjeet Sing, APO, DRDA and B.K Pandita, Principal, RRETC, R.S Pura. The APO DRDA gave a detailed inputs regarding the concept and benefits to Self Help Groups formation under SGSY scheme. He exhorted upon the participants to form maximum number of SHGs to take benefits of the scheme.
Principal of Regional Rural Extension Training Centre RS. Pura also gave detailed inputs regarding the features of new scheme namely NRLM. Other resource persons who spoke in the programme included Dr Baldev Singh Retd. Dy. Director AHD, S.P Chaudhary Sr Manager J&K Grameen Bank Jammu Sk Handoo Branch Manager EDB Talimorh, Shashi Tiwari Asst. Professor and Vijay Raina facilitator.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA said that there was a dire need to revive the fading work culture among the society for improvement in their living standard. He asked the participants to form maximum no of SHGs in the block so that the benefits SGSY could be percolated to them. Lastly, he stressed upon the people to educate their children in a right manner as presently there is a big competition among the youths for obtaining the jobs and also advised the people to take the self employment ventures through different schemes of the govt.
