| One held for firing at man at Roop Nagar | | |
JAMMU, Mar 09: A youth was today apprehended by Chinore police for allegedly opening fire at a car-borne man at Roop Nagar here Tuesday night.
Police sources said Mohit Mehra had a scuffle with Akash of Sharika Vihar near Lower Roop Nagar, Karan Singh Choudhary of Kullian, R S Pura, and Vicky of Khajuria Mohalla, Paloura, Tuesday at about 11.30 pm.
Following heated exchanges between the two sides, the three youth fired at Mehra from a pistol. He, however, had a narrow escape as the bullet missed the target, the sources added.
The accused later fled the spot. The Chinore police today arrested Akash from his hideout, while a hunt was on for the other two.Police had registered a case against the accused under sections 307
and 34 of RPC.
