Parvez selected in Deodhar trophy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, March 10: For his consistent performance in Ranji Trophy, upcoming all-rounder of Jammu and Kashmir has been selected to represent North Zone in Deodhar Trophy and Vijay Hazare. Parvez’s selection was made during the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) zonal selection meeting held at Jaipur yesterday. According to the reports reaching here, this young cricketer was also invited by the management of Kolkota Knight Riders (KKR), an Indian Premier Leauge (IPL) team to attend the three-day selection camp held at Gurgaon in the first week of this month. Parvez was called by the KKR along with other 16 cricketers drawn from different parts of the country, including Laxmipati Balaji, Manoj Tiwari, Iqbal Abdullah and Srivats Goswami. The selected cricketers from this camp shall have to go through the final selection camp to be held later this month. These cricketers were attended by the reputed coaches and trainers including Dave Whatmore, Andrew Leipus, Adrian and Vijay Dahiya during the brief camp. “I performed well in the trial camp and the rest is upto the Almighty. I hope that I may receive the final call,” expressed Parvez. If Parvez receives the final call, he will be the first cricketer from the state to play in IPL
