Sham inaugurates Rice Mill at Muthi-Mera | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 10: Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma today impressed upon the unemployed youth of the state to opt self-employment for their livelihood instead of hankering after the government jobs. He said that government is not in a position to accommodate all educated unemployed youth in government service and youth should avail benefits of various centrally sponsored schemes offering attractive self-employment schemes. Addressing a largely attended public meeting at village Muthi-Mera in Akhnoor today after inaugurating a rice and flour mill, Minister said that more and more unemployed youth are evincing their interest in private sectors and are contented with their work. He said that government has launched several schemes aimed at providing satisfactory lively-hood to interested entrepreneurs of the state. Government has made earnest efforts to attract the unemployed youth to make optimal use of the funds earmarked in the form of subsidy alongwith the loan components to be provided by the various financial institutions, said Sharma. Appreciating efforts of Meena Devi wife of Babu Ram of village Muthi-Mera for setting up of rice and flour mill, the Minister said that her endeavours will encourage other unemployed boys and girls to start their own units instead of chasing after the government jobs. He congratulated entrepreneur for taking lead in the business activity. He hoped that the unit would flourish as per the capacity and meet the local requirement. He wished her all success. Minister was apprised that the Mill produces seven quintals of rice and Atta in one hour and would meet the requirements of adjoining villages. The owner of the mill Ms. Meena maintained that all safety measures have been taken for the workers and her thrust would be to ensure quality produce.
