Bhalla advises youth for taking self-employment ventures

JAMMU, Mar 10: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has asked unemployed youth to start their own ventures for earning a dignified livelihood adding that for this purpose Government has launched number of schemes.
Minister was addressing a large gathering after inaugurating Jai Hanuman Stone Crusher at Mukhra village in Phallain Mandal in Marh block, here today. Bhalla said that coalition government has provided loans on subsidy basis to unemployed youth of the State for establishment of small and large scale industries through KVIB, KVIC on minimal rate of interest.
He said that it is very difficult for the government to provide employment to every unemployed youth of the State” adding that Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Policy for Youth was a vital step forward to promote self-employment ventures. He said the scheme has received a great response in terms of registration by the youth in seeking employability avenues under the scheme.
Regarding enhancement of honorarium of Numberdars and Chowkidars, Bhalla said they are the eyes, ears and arms of the Government adding that coalition Government is very keen to solve their hardships in a phased manner. He said a proposal is under active consideration in the Finance Department for enhancing the honorarium of the Nambardars and Chowkidars and they will get their due soon after the approval.
About expansion of Jammu Airport terminal, the Minister informed that Centre Government has approved Rs. 70 crore for this purpose adding that the government has accorded sanction to the transfer of Irrigation and Flood Control department land measuring 58 kanals 08 marlas on the left side of main Ranbir canal at RD 26465M in village Rakh Raipur for the rehabilitation of the families which are likely to be displaced during the execution of the project.
He urged upon the people not to start any construction within 50 feet of the canal area.
On the occasion, Bhalla said the sermons of great religious scholars help in awakening and empowerment of human beings. He hoped that the devotees attending the congregation would be highly benefited by the virtues sermons being delivered by the Mahants.
