JMC continues drive against adulteration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 10: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited areas of Jewel, Canal Road, Talab Tillo and Nai Basti in Jammu city. In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that Municipal Veterinary Officer during the drive checked 115 milk cans, out of which two which were of sub-standard quality were destroyed on spot. Further continuing the drive to check the menace of stray animals, the team also visited the areas of Amphalla, Panjthirthi, Shalamar Road, Jewel Area, Talab Tillo, Janipur Colony, Bakshi Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Gandhi Nagar etc and lifted 10 stray animals from these areas. Stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound. A total amount of Rs. 4520.00 was charged as fine from the erring milk vendors and owners of stray animals. Besides this, enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer Satish Khajuria while further continuing and intensifying anti-encroachment drive to clear the footpaths visited the areas of Gurudwara Sunder Singh Road, Dogra Chowk, Jewel Chowk, Vinayak Bazar, Canal Road, Paloura, Bohri and Talab Tillo.
