Inter-collegiate symposium marks International Women’s Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , March 10: The three-day long function to mark International Women’s day organized by the NSS Unit of Dogra colleges of Education concluded here today . On the valedictory function today, an inter collegiate symposium on Role of Women in India Society was organized wherein 25 students from various colleges of education participated. The function started with the lighting of traditional lamp by chief guest Prof B.D. Damral, Director Dogra College of Education. Dr. Kiran Luthra, Principal, Dogra College of Education in her welcome address expressed concern over the present scenario in society where the women folk are still differentiated on the gender basis are yet to be given a stratus equivalent to that of men in the society. Hafeeza Muzaffar, Secretary, Women commission (J&K) State was the resource person and special guest on his occasion. Addressing the gathering, she highlighted that slowly and steadily the women folk were becoming enlighten regarding their rights in the civil society and this movement is gaining strength not only in the urban areas but also in the rural areas of our state. Lope Mudra from Dogra College of Education was adjusted 01st, while Suniana Dhar from MIER College of Education was declared 02nd and the 3rd prize was bagged by Sakshi Jain from Khalsa College of Education. However the consolation prize was given to Ruby Sharma from Chenab College of Education. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks which was moved by Monika Anand, lectures of the college.
