JAMMU: Maintaining that he will not accept the resignation of Deputy Speaker Sartaj Madni, the Speaker of Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone said that it is rejected as long as he is occupying the Chair.
The Speaker of the Assembly made this remark during Zero Hour while responding to PDP leader Abdul Rehman Veeri and his other colleagues when they enquired that whether Lone has taken a decision over the issue of allotting a new seat in the House for Madni or not.
The Speaker replied, "Usne Istifa De Diya Uski Marzi…. Mein Manzoor Karoon Ya Na Karoon Meri Merzi (He resigned on his free will…Similarly it is my prerogative whether I accept his resignation or not.)"
" Mujhe Us Se Pyar Hai…. Jab Tak Mein Is Kursi Par Hoon Yeh Kabhi Nahin Hoga (I have affection for him (Madni)…. Since I am in the Chair, the resignation is totally unacceptable).
It is worth while to mention here that Sartaj Madni had resigned from his post on March 3 in protest against Speaker's statement published in a local daily for his alleged support to his party protest in the House. |
