Coordinated efforts needed to stop monkey nuisance: Altaf | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March 11: Minister for Forest and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad said that forest department has initiated measures to stop nuisance of monkeys in various areas of Jammu division, adding that a well coordinated efforts would be made with Municipal and Wildlife besides other concerned departments to stop the nuisance which also causes harm to the agriculture crops. This was stated by the Minister while replying to a question by Mr Jagdish Raj Sapolia in the Legislative Assembly here. The Minister said that the department has launched awareness campaign among the people not to feed monkeys on the road sides. He said well trained monkey trappers are being deployed where the incidents of monkey nuisance reported for trapping and translocation of them to far off places. The Minister said that the people are also educated through media about causative factors of this problem and situation thereof, adding that hoardings have been placed at vulnerable places and hand bills are being distributed to aware the people about prevention of monkey nuisance.
