Legislators raise issues of public importance in LC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, MARCH 11- Several issues related to public importance were raised during zero hour in Legislative Council today. Mr. Altaf Ahmed Wani demanded relaxation in the ban on construction/ renovation of residential houses in Pahalgam area. Mr. M. Y. Taing demanded compensation to the arson victims of the summer unrest in Anantnag district. Mr. B. R. Kindal stressed on proper coordination between various executing agencies like PHE, R&B in execution of different works. Mr. Ghulam Qadir Pardesi called for making the newly constructed hospital building at Faqirgujri, Dhara functional by shifting the existing Primary Health Centre. Syed Asgar Ali demanded airlifting of the stranded passengers of Kargil district who are facing difficulties on account of non-availability of air services. Mr. M. R. Qureshi called for filling up the vacant SDM post at Mendhar and posting of an administrator in a local shrine of the area who could effectively monitor it. Mr. Narboo Gialson called for filling up of the vacant Physical Education Teachers of Leh district and also release of funds for the already executed works under NABARD. Mr. Showkat Hussain demanded upgradation of Wachi High School to Higher Secondary. Mr. Javid Rana called for strengthening the Centre-State relationship and recruitment of the local youth of the State in different Central services including Army and Para Military forces. Mr. Vijay Bakaya demanded provision of alternate accommodation to the recently appointed persons under Prime Minister’s Package who have been provided accommodation in Kheer Bhawani premises in view of the coming Mela Kheer Bhawani. Mr. Naresh Kumar Gupta called for an alternate road from Batote to Kishtwar in view of the sinking of the existing one. Mr. Asgar Ali demanded the issuance of the selection list of the erstwhile district Doda posts advertised in 2006.
