Jammu, Mar 11 : The state government Friday assured the Assembly that honorarium to 28,000 Anganwari workers and helpers engaged under ICDS will be released shortly.
Replying to a point raised by CPI (M) legislator, M Y Tarigami, during Zero Hour in the Legislative Assembly, the Minister for Social Welfare Sakina Itoo said the Centre will release its share soon. The state share has already been released, she said.
Earlier, Tarigami urged the government to release the honorarium of Anganwadi workers and helpers forthwith, who, he said, have not received their dues for last six months.
He said these functionaries are protesting everywhere for want of honorarium.
