438th Birth Anniversary of Goswami Guru Nabhadas celebrated

JAMMU, MARCH 11- Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today impressed upon the people to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and amity among various sections of the society.
Deputy Chief Minister was addressing an impressive function organized in connection with 438th Birth Anniversary of Goswami Guru Nabhadas at Dogra Hall here today.
Several former legislators, Commissioner Jammu Municipality, S. C. Sahni, management of the organizing committee and large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
Reminding the services rendered by Goswami ji for eradication of social evils and upliftment of weaker sections of the society, Tara Chand said that Guru lived a simple, pious and dedicated life right from his younger age and studied various important languages of the globe like Arabic, Persian and Sanskrit to understand the mission of various religions and the teachings, preached to human beings from time to time.
Deputy Chief Minister that Guru was conferred the title of Goswami in spite of his belonging to scheduled caste tribe in view of highest efficiency and noble character.
Speaking about the interests of Scheduled Caste Community, Dy. Chief Minister said that Government has always been securing the interests of weaker section and in the connection, Government has already decided to continue inter-district recruitment of SC candidates.
Responding to various demands of the management, Dy. Chief Minister directed commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation to formulate a compressive project for covering the nallah adjacent to community hall at Dogra Hall to facilitate the people, performing marriages and other functions in the community hall.
The Dy. Chief Minister further said that Government has developed several housing colonies for weaker sections and more such colonies would be developed as per requirement by the Government. He asked the deputation to submit a memorandum for the purpose so that the matter is processed by the concerned authorities.
