Writ opposing CBI investigation in Chopra Murder case | HC directed FC Home to produce the record | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, March-11 :- In the much publicized Chopra murder case Justice JP Singh directed Financial Commissioner Home J&K to produce the record before the court on the basis the case has been transferred to CBI under FIR No 107/2006 registered P/S Bahu-Fort. Court in the open Court further directed DIG Farooq Khan Incharge SIT to submit the latest status report of the investigation in the said FIR. In the letter written to the Secretary Govt of India Ministry of personal, PG & Pensions New Delhi No: Home ISA/143/2006 dated February 25, 2011 request for CBI investigation into Fir No 107/2006 u/s 302 RPC regarding gruesome murder of three members of Chopra family along with driver and helper, the letter written by Deputy Secretary Home Dept J&K Govt in which he refer a letter No 228/54/2006-AVD-II dated November 2, 2006regarding the subject cited above and to say that a Special Investigating Team was constituted to investigate the case. However, during the course of investigation it has surfaced that the gruesome murder was planned and executed through criminals residing out-side the territory of the J&K State and the case has thus wider inter-state ramifications and needs to be investigated by the CBI. It is accordingly requested to kindly have the case investigated by the CBI in pursuance of the J&K Govt Notification issued under SRO 309/ dated September 25, 2006.
