38 percent increase in tax collection in J&K :Pathania | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 11: Asserting that there is an immense rise in the number of tax payers, Chief Income Tax Commissioner K S Pathania today said that the department has collected 30 per cent more tax in the current financial year as compared to the previous. Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, the IT Commissioner said, “there is 38 per cent increase in tax collection in Jammu and Kashmir as compared to the previous year and the credit goes to the department, who aware people of pro and cons of paying tax.” He further said, “even in the current financial year, record funds have been collected by the department. Pathania further said that in the previous year, 4625 cases of tax payers were cleared while in the current financial year record breaking 20,945 pending cases have been cleared by the department. Earlier, a delegation of Associate Traders led by Y P Gupta also met the Commissioner. Commissioner Appeals, Sanjay Mishra was also present in the press conference.
