Traders, taxi wallahs, house boat operators could earn their livelihood in a peaceful atmosphere and do not have to bear the brunt of disturbances arising out of violence. At the same time it will be ensured that tourism do not get a beating that it experienced during last year’s unrest.” “We would like to apply minimum force to normalize the situation so as to avoid inconvenience to the people but in case the situation deteriorates, we will deal it with firm hand, however, it would be ensured that there are less of losses.” he added. When asked about the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant Sajjad Afghani’s killing in an encounter Kashmir yesterday, DGP said, "The killed terrorist was chief of Jaish and was active in Kashmir for the last several years… The slain terrorist was involved in a number of killings of security forces and para military forces.” “He had a plan to carry out an attack in Srinagar but Police’s timely action foiled his nefarious designs… With his elimination Jaish has suffered a jolt which is trying hard to be active again.” he added
