| Hectic schedule on opening day of Bench Press | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, March 12: Hectic schedule kept the officials on their toes on the opening day of the National Bench Press Powerlifting Championship, organised by All J&K Powerlifting Association at Abhinav Theatre here today.
Participants from different states underwent their preliminary rounds of competitions in different age groups of both men and women. In senior men’s category, a number of competitors were in the age groups of 40 to 50 years.
Earlier, the championship was declared open by Minister for Sports, R S Chib, who was chief guest in the inaugural function that took place this morning.
It is pertinent to mention here that this championship is being conducted by Indian Powerlifting Federation to shortlist probable for forthcoming Asian Bench Press Championship to be held at Chinese Tai Pai in August.
